Floor Coverings International Interview

Sometimes blogging (as much as I love it) has to take a backburner to my furniture painting, and that has definitely been the case lately.

I feel like for the last many months my days have been filled with hunting/sanding/staining/painting/staging/photographing furniture and working with clients. I'm constantly amazed by how my little business and grown and evolved.

But, I seriously miss decorating and blogging! I've done pretty much nothing in our new house and it is eating away at me. I have so many ideas and need to really put them in action soon (and I definitely see that happening now that the weather in warming).

Anyway, it was nice to step away from the furniture world for a brief minute recently (even though all I pretty much discussed was furniture!) and talk about me, Number Fifty-Three (the blog) and my definite style.

It was so incredibly nice for the people at Floor Covering International to want to interview me as a design influencer and I'd love to share it with you all!

You can read the entire interview right here.

Klein Blue Dresser

I really love working on custom orders for clients. It makes me work outside of the usual white/gray/aqua box that I tend to gravitate towards when I paint something.

Not too long ago, I picked up this dresser. It was insanely solid and just happened to be what a repeat client was searching for. She asked for it to be finished in a bold blue and as soon as I heard that I grabbed my General Finishes Klein Blue.

Antique Dresser Turned Kitchen Island & Contributor Post

This project was a first for us here at Number Fifty-Three. We had a request from a client to turn her antique dresser (that had been in the family for a few generations) into a kitchen island.

This was the perfect repurpose project to keep a piece with history still relevant in a modern and busy home. We were so happy to have created this and, although time consuming, it went rather smoothly and easily.
